Baby OH Baby!

I guess it has been awhile since I sat down to visit with all of you. I have just had the winter blah's I guess. Just haven't felt up to doing this. Plus, I was having company that was supposed to come to visit the last week in February and I was trying to get some projects done. I just found out Thursday night that they aren't coming!! I needed to get the things I did done anyway but I sure am disappointed! To boot, my Mom has not been feeling well. I finally took her to the Dr. last Monday and he thinks she has C dif, which is a bad GI infection, especially for a woman her age, she is 87. Luckily, she is much improved with her medicine and the "probiotics

Well, enough about my absence. Today, I just had to get out of the house. Yesterday, it was gray and cold here and all I wanted to do was curl up and watch the KU basketball game. So, today Jen and I hit one of my favorite stores, Homestead Handcrafts. It's a combination craft and antique mall not far from my house. I bought another cute baby picture to add to the collection in the kitchen. I bought it at a booth called "Embellishments", it has lots of good "old stuff." I think a mother and daughter have the booth together and they just happened to be there adding some new "treasures" to the booth. I had run into them the previous time I was there, too. We had talked about my blog last time and she told me today that she had looked it up and really liked it. That sure lifted my spirits! I came home hung the picture, rearranged the cannisters and took these pictures. Hope you enjoy them.

Thanks to all of you for hanging in there during my absence, I'll try to do better.! Have a great week!

Winter sure does bring about the blahs, especially after the holidays. Best thing is just to keep busy or at least that's what my husband always tells me. Thanksfully spring is just around the corner! Esther

Hi Sandyt, I missed you! I kept checking to see if you had a new post. I'm so glad you are back! I'm sorry to hear that you weren't feeling well and that your mother has been sick. I hope she feels better real quick. I love the baby pictures that you put in your kitchen and the glass cannisters are really nice. Spring is not far away, so hang in there. The sunshine usually cheers me up. Take care, I love your blog.

I love those pictures of children and I don't really know what the winterblahs is...is it a flue? is it hormonal? Is it due to the short dark days and the coldness? Well cheer up.. you have the handsomest president of the world!!I would almost emigrate to have one like that....

My Dear Miss Sandy,

Welcome home! Glad you were able to get out and enjoy a day with Jen. Shopping is a great way to feel better.

I've been a bit depressed lately about a constant lack of money. I bought this absolutely awesome home decor material to use in my master bedroom. I picked it up a couple of weekends ago when JoAnn Fabrics was having a 50% off sale, plus the saleswoman who waited on me gave me her 10% off coupon on any home decor (on sale or not). So... I got this gorgeous material that was originally 19.99/yd. for 60% off. (I'll try to take a pic of it for my blog some time soon.)

However, I tend to just get so depressed because I just don't have the cash flow to buy stuff for a re-make... even just to buy paint. My part time job at the market is being taken over by fire wood and groceries or fuel for the Jeep... or everything else but what my heart desires to do.

Oh well...

Glad you are doing better. I missed you.

Hugs,
Penny Sue

hello
To get ovet the blahs, just look around and see what all you have in your house and then think of those poor people in africa. That is what I do. It helps me.
I always need to go someplace like a flea market or antique mall. Food always helps but my Dr just told me this week NO MORE SUGAR. She said your DONE. I need to work on my weight. NOW. So I am starting weight watchers point system. I can't afford meeting, so some lady I work with loaned me her books.
Wish we lived closer.

It all looks so sweet. I really like the canisters, the way you've got them arranged on your counter. I wish I had that much countertop space in my kitchen!

Spring is just around the corner, I promise. The days are getting longer and longer. We're getting there, slowly but surely. Hang in there. It'll be gardening time before you know it! :-)
