The Shabby Kitchen Display

The vaulted ceiling in the kitchen afforded a great opportunity to have a great display above the cabinets, but I wanted something a little different. I went scrounging around my house for something out of the ordinary for a kitchen.

The clock was a great find on the sale table at Home Goods. It was all black when I got it. I was painting the cabinets and just started wiping it with my cream paint and it just turned blue.I was so pleasantly surprised, it was just the color I would have chosen. Who would have thought!!

Next I found an old frame or two that I got from my Mom, some blue and white to pull some of my blue and white china from my collections and some other shabby things accumulated over the years. Topped of with some green plants and I was done.

I like what you have done with your kitchen. I have dark cabinets in mine. It is nice to see what changing the color does in someone else's kitchen. I will have to keep that in mind. Welcome to blogging. Looking forward to other changes you make in your home.

Well I love what you have done to your kitchen! The displays above the cabinets look so pretty and love the wallpaper. I think you did such a good job with your chandy, those xmas ornaments really do come in handy for other projects don't they. I also saw the outside pic of your house and it looks adorable! Now that I got all that out, LOL, I wanted to say thanks for stopping by for the visit on my blog and I will be adding you to my fav's so I can keep up with your progress on your cute little cottage!

Hi, Sandy. I discovered your blog when I visited Cindy's Romantic Home blog today. Your kitchen changes remind me a lot of what we did in our kitchen a few years back (painting dark cabinets white) but your's is so pretty because of all of your decorative touches. Looking forward to stopping by again soon.
