I'm Confused

I'm having a meltdown. I am trying to figure out what I like. Lately I've been reading some blogs from people who went to Marburger and Round Top, held twice a year and gets people from all over the country.(A big antique show here in Texas, attended by all the major country magazines.) They have shown some of the things that they saw while there. A lot of it is very eclectic, architectural salvage and unconventional arrangements. Really cool stuff, very shabby. More toward Paris Apt. than RA. I'm not quite pink and ruffles but I'm not into black or dark colors either. I notice that when I post about old music or my shadow box, I either get no readers or no comments. I know that what you all want is part of blogging, especially if you want lots of followers. I want that, too, but I am hoping that I can combine them both. What is your opinion? I'd like to know, but also know that I am a very sensitive person so go lightly if you have negative comments. Thanks for helping make my house and my blog, hopefully, better.
Sandy

Hi there! I noticed that I increased the traffic to my blog when I participate in Pink Saturday and Blue Monday. I am also participating in Three or More Thursdays. There are others out there, but I am not organized enough to participate in some of the other themes. So anyway, that is one way to increase the number of visitors. Also if you click on the visitor counter on my blog, I think it will take you to the site and you can make your own counter to include in your blog. Use the html link thing in Add a Gadget to add one to your blog. I like having the counter, because I can see how much traffic I get. Does not match the comments, but I can tell my blog is visited anyway. And continue with what you are doing and commenting on others and eventually the traffic and comments increase. It was slow going for me too, until I started interacting more with other bloggers and particiapting in the theme days somewhat. Hope that helps you and that it also gives you a lift. I want you smiling not confused. Let me know if you have more questions. I will try to help as best as I can. Have a good day!

Sandy, I think your post is very nice and I do read it.....in fact I have it on my "Blogs that I follow" thing on my blogger dashboard. I agree with neabear that if you put a counter on your blog, that truly does help boost your blogging ego, as it show how many people actually come and read.....sadly, few comment unless you are doing a give-away....and trust me, we ALL love comments. I haven't participated in any of the "day" things, maybe I should look into that.....will see. Just keep doing what you are doing.....I think your blog is well written and enjoyable.....and the more you write the more people will come back to read.....if I can help in any other way, I would be honored to do so.

Hi Sandy--I've been 'hit and miss' in the blogging world these past few , and just checked up on yours. I hear you on 'what is your style' thing...I don't feel like I quite 'fit in' anywhere! I kinda like it all and try to incorporate it all.
Anyway, I love your style and your ideas--you are very creative and talented. Just keep going..even if you only have a 'faithful few' that follow you--like I do!
Blessings,
Myrna

Hello! I just recently found your blog and added it to my "favorites". Since I don't know anyone in blogland, I'm a little shy about commenting. Your post just makes me want to visit every one's blog and comment.

I can honestly say that I do really like your blog exactly the way it is. I've taken a bit of a break from my own blogs and am just now trying to get caught up with everyone, which will take me many days to do. So I'm sorry that I haven't commented lately. Please know that it doesn't have anything to do with you....it's just that the little thing called Life has interfered far too much in my Blog World.

You know what I think? I think it just takes time. time..and visiting other blogs..and when you visit other blogs--for myself I always hope to come across new bloggers hoping to build their followers also. I'm finding that well established blogs-for one--DONT support other blogs. And I'm also finding it dosnt matter sometimes what your taste is--once a person is loyal--they will post no matter what the topic is. I think you need to stick to what YOU like about you, your home, your life..and just give it time to find the other ladies who will enjoy you. You cant build a blog based on what others like...I think that is selling ourselves short. I make it a habit to visit other blogs almost daily and continue to try and find fellow bloggers that will support me and I them. I'm just finding it not good to support blogs that have tons of followers.

Hello! I checked out your blog because of a post you left on mine. I think it is great! I really like the paper music ideas. I think you just have to take the blog in the direction you want it to go and not worry about the rest. I know I will post a link to your blog. Thank for the comment and keep up the great work!

I agree w/ the others ...you just have to get out there & participate to get your blog visible. It feels kinda funny to comment on blogs where you don't know them from Adam but if you attend blog play days w/ them, it helps to break the ice. I'm guilty of it myslef as I've been a lurker at YOUR blog. ;o)

Hi there - I am new to following blogs and found yours via Cindy's My Romantic Home. I've added yours to my favorites - I wouldn't change anything on your blog! As a matter of fact, I just posted a comment on your new kitchen cabinets entry, and I'll say it again here, YOU did a FABULOUS JOB! That type of entry has become my favorite kind of blog - yours is one of my favorites :) Keep up the good work!
