OK, OK, You Win!

The past two week ends I've been working on phase 3 of the bedroom project. This portion is the dressing area between the bedroom and the bathroom. It is where my dressing table, sink and closet are.

This where I put on my face every morning before work and have breakfast with my two dogs.
You can see part of my shell mirror that is coming apart. After I took these pictures I took it out and put another mirror there that has some rose appliques at the top. It is currently white but will get a coat of the cream paint as soon as I am able. On the drawer front you can see a rose applique. I added one to the drawer and one to the panel in front of the sink. The beautiful lamp is called Queen Marie. She was named by my Grandmother. This lamp is another one of the lamps that I got to have that belonged to her. I love this lamp.

Here is a close up of the applique.
Now the question is what looks best with the bead board that I have spent the last 2 days putting up. I must admit that it was a challenge. It's not the first time I've done bead board but it is the first time I've put it up in such a small place. You ask why is that such a challenge? It required a lot of cuts. I used the small panels instead of the 4x8 sheets, they are easier to work with but cutting down the length with a jig saw is not easy. Trying to stay on the straight is not easy. I'm not really good with a saw, be it jig or circular. My main problem with circular saws is that they are too heavy for me to handle easily, so I tend to use the jig saw more easily. I'm trying to decide what I want to put above the bead board. I have three options.
First....the wallpaper in the bedroom.

Secondly, the wallpaper in the bathroom.

Thirdly, pale pink paint that I had mixed off of the palest pink in the rose wallpaper in the bedroom. (which is in the first picture above.) Which do you think goes the best? I'm kind of leaning toward the small print in the bathroom, but I'm going to keep all three of them up for this week to see if I still feel the same. What do you think?

I hope that you all know how much I appreciate all the comments of my last post. It is nice to know that there are people out there who enjoy my blog. I have tried to take all your comments to heart and proceed from there. Thanks from the bottom of my heart!

I love your site and popping in to see what else you're doing. You are so talented.

In my opinion, I like the smaller wallpaper print for the bath. It has more of a cozy feel. It probably won't seem too busy with the bottom wall a solid color. Honestly though, both papers are gorgeous and I don't see how you can go wrong with either.

Keep up the good work, I can't wait until your next post.

Well, now you know I love the paper that you have in your bedroom. Then again I love the little roses, BUT the wonderful, beautiful pale pink is just to die for. Yes, I can make up my mind in no time at all. I can't wait to see it when you finish. WOW, you did a wonderful job with the bead board!!!

P.S. I read a back post. Don't stop blogging even if you have only a few faithful readers. Remember it's a ministry to just put it out there. You may never know all you touch.

Oh my I can see why you are having such a dilemma choosing! They are all wonderful choices! I love the bedroom wallpaper but it may be hard to even put up in such a small area- You probably wouldn't be able to hang alot of things on the wall with it which could be a minus or plus. The tiny roses are charming also but again the look you have in mind. Would it maybe to busy for a small space? The pink would give maybe a few more options. What about doing the pink and then maybe framing a piece of either wallpaper to use as a picture or background or matte which would pull the 2 rooms together?

Please dont stop blogging! I love your site. Haven't been over as I have been gone the last two weekends plus still not caught up from loosing the whole of July and part of Aug to that silly snake bite!

Maybe the question is- do you enjoy it or has it become a burden? Maybe just taking a little break would help. I almost wish there were no numbers showing or how many followers- every one's blogs offers something unique to that person and you cannot put a number on that-

Hi Sandy, I think you should go with the small print. It's a nice contrast to the larger rose print. I love how you did the beadboard, it looks very professional, even better. You can't give up on your blogging. I love reading your blog and I am amazed at what you've done with your home! I won't be able to keep up with your progress! Give it some more time. You've given it a whole year, don't just throw it all away. It's a great way to track your progress in your decorating and I'll miss you, if you do stop so you can't! I just wanted to let you know that I am having my 100th post giveaway and I wanted you to join in on the fun! I know you will love the stuff that I've chosen, so come over and see what it's all about.

Hello, stumbled upon your blog thru Tammy. I love shabby chic and your sooo good at it! I especially like the applique and the wainscoting in the bathroom. The only room in my house that is shabby chic is my daughter's bathroom..my hubby wouldn't like the whole house like that....but I would...lol I will come and visit you again. Drop in on me anytime.

Wow you have done an amazing job and your bed and bath looks so cozy, I think I like the paint the best, it might be too much with the wallpaper in the bedroom and bath but either way it will be beautuiful!

I LOVE the first wallpaper!! But since it is in the bedroom, the pretty coordinating one would probably be best in the bath, huh?

If it were me, I would have a hard time deciding. But I guess I have to keep reading to find out what you finally decided on doing. Your dressing area looks so charming. That lamp is awesome!
