Happy Mother's Day Early!

Yesterday, my Mom, my daughter Jennifer, and I went to get a pedicure, out to lunch and then to one of my favorite shops. It is a craft/antique store. I saw this child's piano and fell in love.
My daughter bought it for me for Mother's Day. I am so thrilled. I am so excited to put it in my new room when it gets built. I'm having such a hard time waiting for the day that we can get started on it.

I'm still looking through books and magazines to find things I'd like to incorporate into it. I'm teetering back and forth whether to put a French door or windows on the one wall that doesn't have a door. It would be on the side of the rose garden. I guess it will be determined somewhat by the price of the doors and /or windows and the amount of labor cost for each. Also, I am thinking about putting a false fireplace on another wall. I've been squirreling as much money as I can but there is, unfortunately, a maximum amount I can afford. I'm just anxious to get my "stuff" spread out and organized so I can start on some of the projects I want to do.

Wednesday is my last day of work! I've been waiting for this day and it is FINALLY just a couple of days away. WOOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!

Your little piano is darling!

How exciting that you only have a couple more days:) I think a faux fireplace would be a wonderful idea. We live in an apartment and I've been wanting one just to make it feel more home-y!

Happy early Mothers Day to you!

The little piano is great and your daughter is so sweet to get it for you. Congrats on your retirement, you are going to love it! I can't wait to see your new room, too. It'll be so nice to have more space. I always wish I had more room, too. Make sure you take lots of photos! I signed up for an heirloom sewing class today and I can't wait to do that. Two sessions-3 hrs each-and I use Viki to do this--fun!

Hey there my retired friend... too busy loving life to write? Just kidding. I just wanted to send you Happy Mother's Day wishes whatever you do today.

I could have sworn I posted a comment before on this post, but I don't see one. Maybe I just thought I did. I do that sometimes. My sister and I had one of those little pianos. It was hers first, as she is 8 yrs. older, then I got to play it when she had "outgrown" it. I can still hear the little clinky noise the keys made. Ours was navy blue. Many happy memories came back thanks to you deary. Hugs, PS (and tell us all about your last day... did you get a party?)

French doors are always wonderful to have, especially if they open onto a rose garden! But yes, they will cost more than a window.

Happiest of Mother's Days to you!
